The European Commission has recently proposed a target of reducing EU greenhouse gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels by 2030. Sectors covered by the EUETS (power generation and large industry) will be required to reduce emissions to 42% below 1990 levels.[read more]

EU Sets Binding Renewable Energy Targets After Tough Negotiations

Following intense negotiations the European Union has announced a series of climate-based goals for the whole Union as part of the new EU framework on climate and energy for 2030. The new framework includes a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 40% below 1990 levels.[read more]
