This is a big step forward and strong signal of the
Administration’s commitment to nuclear power and reducing emissions by all possible
means. It also is a doubling down by the Administration on Graham-Kerry-Lieberman
efforts in the Senate to put together a deal that attracts bipartisan support.
This is saying – particularly to moderate Rs, "You want to build new
reactors? So do we, but this alone won't get us to a clean energy economy. We also need a cap on carbon, an RES, more energy innovation and all the other clean energy strategies we've advocated for over the last year."
