We at The Energy Collective, Social Media Today’s online community where the world’s best thinkers on energy and climate congregate to discuss business and policy solutions, are pleased to announce the launch of the Future Energy Fellows program. Sponsored by Royal Dutch Shell, this community will provide the rising stars of the global energy industry and policy worlds with an online presence, means to connect and collaborate, and a forum to contribute their thoughts and ideas on the future of energy generation, fuel extraction, and other resources to The Energy Collective.
Working with leaders and future leaders from a variety of energy backgrounds and with varied interests and perspectives, The Energy Collective will seek out Fellows for the program from academic institutions, non-profits, and the private sector to come together in a virtual community and exchange ideas. Our goal is to build a content library including blog posts, interviews, and eventually multimedia features including videos and webinars in this moderated, editorially independent exchange. The Energy Collective will maintain a special home page for The Future Energy Fellows at theenergycollective.com/future-energy-fellows, and their contributions will also be tagged on the posts that appear in our published library.
“We’re pleased to be part of bringing these talented, committed thinkers together to provide a global framework for better understanding of our energy options,” noted Don Bulmer, VP of Communication Strategy for Shell. “We hope to help build worldwide understanding, cooperation, and thought leadership by giving a voice and a collaborative space to the various future energy leaders of our planet.”
On our part, Shell’s leadership in social media in the energy sector convinced us that they were the right partner for this initiative, since it will require a strong commitment to allowing these bright people to communicate and collaborate with intellectual freedom. As CEO of Social Media Today, which produces The Energy Collective, I know that we’re greatly looking forward to having their input in this community.
We will be pleased to begin to introduce the Fellows participating in the program in the coming days and weeks, and the talent search will continue through the spring. For information about The Future Energy Fellows program, contact Henry Spethmann, Henry@SocialMediaToday.com.
